So what is a WildID really?

YOU control what information is contained in your ID and what your ID is used for. For instance, it can encrypt your communications, scrambling them so your message can only be read by someone whom you tell how to unscramble it. Starts to sound like the secret code you used in the fifth grade, right? Same basic idea, just much more sophisticated.

Because your WildID is unique, distinct and non-forgeable, you can use it to confirm your identity to anyone you communicate with - and vice-versa. So when you receive an e-mail from someone whose WildID you know, you can be sure the message is really from that trusted person - and not from a heinous imposter. This advantage is authentication, the ability to verify the identity of someone you are communicating with.

Another use of a WildID is to protect a message from being messed with. More accurately stated, using your ID means that any tampering can be detected and the message resent. This is called integrity.

Whoa, this is sounding complicated. Is it?
Nope. While WildIDs can do lots more, authenticated e-mail is the biggie, and it's quite simple to use. If you have a WildID, most e-mail programs handle things automatically - once you perform a simple configuration in the program to install your WildID and the person you wish to communicate privately with does the same with theirs. Then you can easily send secure, private, tamper-proof e-mail that can be read only by the addressee, just as easily and conveniently as you send unprotected e-mail right now.

OK, I want a WildID. So how do I get one, and what will it cost?
Well, you've come to the right place...and the right price! WildIDs are free and only take a minute or two to obtain.
